Coaches Choice NY takes first game of the Bob Crocker Jr. Chowder Cup.

FOXBORO – In the first game credited as being played since the tournament was renamed the Bob Crocker Jr. Chowder Cup to honor the long-time scout, Coaches Choice New York held off Canada West Beige for a 3-2 victory on Thursday morning at the Foxboro Sports Center.

Through the game’s opening half, the scoresheet looked as though Coaches Choice was well on their way to a victory. They scored three to their opponent’s one to take something of a cushion into the halftime break.

Canada West, however, made their moves right out of the locker room. Jason McKee scored just 27-seconds into the second half to make it a one-goal game at 3-2. There was plenty of time for a comeback, but Black Micucci stood in the New York net and thwarted all the remaining chances that came his way for the remaining 24:33 to keep the score where it was through the game’s conclusion.

Leighton Biesiadecki, Colin DeLanzo and Jack Jedrey were each credited with a score for Coaches Choice, but it was McKee who finished as the game’s leading scorer with a goal and an assist.
