CANTON – Coaches Choice held off a rallying Aces team to secure a 4-3 win in their first game at the 2022 Pre-Draft Showcase.
It was the Aces early and Coaches Choice late in the first half. Aces opened up with a goal each from Jake Russell and Robbie Nolan, but Coaches Choice stormed back with one from Fronduto Genaro, Tyler Carter and Iantorno Tobias to take a 3-2 lead into the half.
A second goal from Carter extended the lead to 4-2 early in the second. The Aces were back to within one on a power play goal from Peter Drake, but that is a close as they came, locking in the 4-3 final score.
Carter’s two goals led the game in scoring, while netminder Primo Baldassarre secured the win for Coaches Choice.
