FOXBORO – It was a 4-0 shutout victory for Cheema Hockey to open the 2024 Women’s Chowder Cup. The U19 division win came over the Artic Penguins on Friday evening at the Foxboro Sports Center.
After a scoreless first, Cheema opened the game’s scoring with a pair of goals in the second period. First it was Annabelle Matchett, and then Angelina Apice to account for the 2-0 lead.
Apice added a second in the third to extend Cheema’s advantage to 3-0. Talia Stein closed out the scoring with a goal as the third period approached its midpoint, bringing things to their 4-0 final.
Sydney Fogu backstopped the win from the Cheema net.
