Canada West Prospects Open with Win

First win of 2014 Pre-Draft Tourney a 2-0 decision for West Prospects.

WAPOLE – New England Pro-Am Hockey’s 2014 International Pre-Draft Showcase is underway and the first victory of the three-day tournament went to the Canada West Prospects by virtue of a 2-0 decision over Walpole Express White Friday morning at the Rodman Arena in Walpole, MA.

Canada West ended the contest with a little breathing room, but the outcome was not decided until late as goaltenders Kyle St. Denis of the Express and Alex Corley of Canada West kept their opposing offense in check until deep into the second half. After a scoreless first, it was not until the 21:36 mark Tage Thompson was able to break through the goaltending wall for the first tally of the day and a 1-0 Prospects lead.

An empty-netter by Anthony Vincent at 24:15 sealed the win for Canada West.
