FOXBORO – The score remained tight for much of the contest, but in the end it was the Bay State Breakers U18 earning the win in their 2014 Midget Classic tournament opener by a score of 3-0 over Bishops College School on Saturday night at the Foxboro Sports Center.
It was a hard-hitting battle, with not much offense to speak of. As the teams went back and forth, Breakers forward Daniel Shea managed the only goal of the opening 25:00 with a tally at 10:53 that was assisted on by Jack Griffin and William Jones.
As Bay State clung to their 1-0 lead through the remainder of the first half, John Quinn played the role of hero in the second. The Breakers forward notched a pair of goals just after the midpoint of the half to give his side an added cushion. The first, assisted on by Nico Droster and Colin Sheehan, came at 13:05, followed by an unassisted mark at 16:04 to set the score at its 3-0 final.
