FOXBORO – There were 60 games on the schedule to start the second day of the 2016 Jr. Chowder Cup, the first of the day at Foxboro Sports Center resulting in a 10-4 victory for All-American Prospects ’01 over Boston Jr. Whalers Canada.
All-American made quick work of it, Ethan Phillips kicking it off with his third of the tournament at 3:50 of the first half. It was Phillips lone score of the contest, but the first of six in the frame for the Prospects offense, while their defensive unit held Boston scoreless.
The second half was more balanced, but not until after Prospects upped their advantage to 8-0 to start the frame. While the first half score was lopsided at 6-0, the second was even, the Whalers rallying to make it 4-4 in the game’s final 25-minutes. Mack Honchar, Max Eckstein twice and Matheson Duff all scoring for Boston.
Three Prospects forwards ended with three points in the contest, Matt Crasa leading the way with two goals and an assist. Phillips and Bailey Peach were credited with a goal and an assist apiece.
Drew Hubbard was credited with the win in net for All-American.
