2019 Midget Fall Classic; Sunday games – 2:45p.

FOXBORO –The final day of round robin play at the 2019 Midget Fall Classic was played throughout Sunday at the Foxboro Sports Center. The following is a look at the reported 2:40 p.m. games.

Rink 1 – Central Connecticut Capitals U18 6 vs. Boston Jr. Bruins Gold 2:

The Central Connecticut Capitals picked up their first win of the 2019 Midget Fall Classic on Sunday afternoon as they defeated the Boston Jr. Bruins 6-2 at the Foxboro Sports Center.

Connecticut took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break, but Boston turned things around with the first goal of the second half. They had the last goal of the half, as well, but in between the Capitals ripped off four-straight goals to put the game away.

All six Capitals goals came from a different player, though three had multiple points in the contest: Niklas Vasiljevs (1G, 1A), MacAllister Stambach (1G, 1A) and Owen Fernandez (2A).

Charles McLean and Christopher Allain were each credited with a goal for the Bruins.

Rink 2 – 95 Giants U18 vs. Boston Advantage Showcase:

Rink 3 – East Coast Leafs U18 5 vs. Boston Jr. Huskies White (Clancy) 1:

Fueled by a strong start to the contest, the East Coast Leafs dealt the Boston Jr. Huskies their first loss of the 2019 Midget Fall Classic, 5-1, on Sunday afternoon at the Foxboro Sports Center.

All of the Leafs offense came in the game’s opening 25-minutes. Connor O’Niel on the power play, Jason Sullivan, Alex Wheeler, Declan Lovett – also on the power play – and Kevin Barrera came through with the goals, but it was Jack McCarthy’s three assists that led the game in scoring.

A shorthanded goal by Eddie Collins in the second half did get the Huskies on the scoreboard, but it was the only black mark on Ray Ivers’ record in the contest, the Leafs’ netminder locking it down otherwise for the 5-1 victory.
