2019 Midget Fall Classic; Sunday games – 1p.

FOXBORO –The final day of round robin play at the 2019 Midget Fall Classic was played throughout Sunday at the Foxboro Sports Center. The following is a look at the first afternoon games of the day.

Rink 1 – Valley Jr. Warriors 1 vs. Wonderland Wizards U16 3:

In their first of two games on the day, the Wonderland Wizards took home their first victory of the tournament as they defeated the Valley Jr. Warriors 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

After Wonderland opened up a two-goal lead, the Warriors started to make things interesting as Kevin DeMichaelis scored with just one second left in the first half to make it 2-1 at the intermission. That is where the score remained until late in the contest, Brendan Carney scoring with just a handful of minutes remaining to make it 3-1.

Rink 2 – Central Connecticut Capitals U16 10 vs. Lovell Knights U16 1:

The Central Connecticut Capitals made a statement in their second half of play to open Sunday afternoon at the 2019 Midget Fall Classic. Their offense took off to complete a 10-1 drubbing of the Lovell Knights.

It was a tight contest, just 2-1, when the teams left the ice for the halftime break. That did not last long, however, as the Capitals went on to score again and again and then still some more in the second frame.

Eight tallies went on the scoreboard across the game’s final 25 minutes to close out the 10-1 victory. In total, 10 different Capitals factored into scoring their team’s 10 goals, Thor Novicelli leading the way with two goals and two assists.

Luke Festa (2G), Duncan Hollander (1G, 1A), Chase Millen (1G, 1A), Joey DeLucia (1G, 1A) and Patrick McKiernan (2A) each also had two points in the victorious effort.

Rink 3 – Boston Jr. Huskies Red (Beshwati) 4 vs. Vermont Flames 1:

The Boston Jr. Huskies made it back-to-back wins to open their stay at the 2019 Midget Fall Classic. In their second contest of the tournament, they defeated the Vermont Flames 4-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Foxboro Sports Center.

It was two in the first and two in the second for the Huskies to pace their victory. Scott Lagos netted his third and fourth goals of the weekend in the opening period, while Donny McNeice and Zachary Lee each came through with a goal in the second.

While trailing 4-0 late in the game, Charles Green came through with the lone tally in the contest against Husky netminder Liam Polles.
