2019 Midget Fall Classic; Saturday games – 1:40p.

FOXBORO –New England Pro Am Hockey began their final tournament of the season on Saturday at the Foxboro Sports Center. The following is a look at the reported 1:40 p.m. games of the 2019 Midget Fall Classic.

Rink 1 – Lovell Knights U16 0 vs. Boston Jr. Huskies Red (Breshwati) 11:

It was a comfortable start for the Boston Jr. Huskies at the 2019 Midget Fall Classic. They dropped seven goals in their first half of play of the tournament and coasted to an 11-0 blanking of the Lovell Knights.

Boston came out swinging hard in the first half, setting the tone with a stunning seven goals in the frame. David Lawlor, Kevin Parrish, Patrick Hart, Jack Woods, Donny McNeice, Brendan Cullen and Scott Lagos each credited with a tally to garner the Huskies their 7-0 advantage.

Things were better for Lovell in the second, but still a tough go as Boston piled on four more to close out their 11-nil victory.

Hart and Lagos each came through with a second score in the game’s second half to each finish with a game-high two points. Zachary Lee equaled his teammates as he added to his assist from the first half with a goal in the second to also finish with two points.

Liam Polles was the goaltender of record with the shutout for the Huskies.

Rink 2 – Providence Hockey Club U16 South 4 vs. Valley Jr. Warriors 2:

Providence Hockey Club doubled up the Valley Jr. Warriors on Saturday to kick off their slate at the 2019 Midget Fall Classic with a 4-2 victory at the Foxboro Sports Center.

It was a 1-1 draw through one for Providence and Valley, but Providence game out with three straight – including two on the power play – to break the game open in the second.

Trailing 4-1, Colby Scott netted his second of the game for the Warriors deep in the second half, but the victory was already in sight for Providence and the game ended 4-2.

Cameron Gaffney (2G), Matthew McKenzie (1G, 1A) and Sonny Arsenault (2A) each had multiple points to lead the Providence offense. Cole Barron was credited as the victorious goaltender.

Rink 3 – Providence Hockey Club U18 3 vs. Boston Jr. Huskies White (Clancy) 7:

The Boston Jr. Huskies opened up their 2019 Midget Fall Classic with a win on Saturday afternoon. They defeated Providence Hockey Club 7-3 at the Foxboro Sports Center.

After Boston opened the scoring, Providence was looking good as they netted a pair to take a 2-1 advantage around the 19-minute mark of the first half. There were three more to be had for the Husky offense, however, before the half’s close, including a pair for Chris Tsantonelis, who opened the game’s scoring and then came back with another two, which included a shorthanded score to end the first half at 4-2 in favor of the Huskies.

As he did in the first, Tsantonelis opened the scoring again in the second half, his fourth of the game and the first of three more Husky goals. Cameron Bernard had a goal for Providence at 12:57, but it was not enough to surpass Boston, who completed the 7-3 victory.
