2019 Midget Fall Classic; Saturday games – 10:30a.

FOXBORO –New England Pro Am Hockey began their final tournament of the 2019 season on Saturday morning at the Foxboro Sports Center. The following is a look at the reported opening games at the Midget Fall Classic.

Rink 1 – Providence Hockey Club U16 North 10 vs. Boston Jr. Huskies White (Ward) 2:

Providence Hockey Club made a strong statement when they opened the tournament with a seven-goal first half en route to a 10-2 victory over the Jr. Huskies.

Mickey Becker-Norton started the scoring assault for Providence just 1:53 into the contest. The route was not set to begin yet, however, as Boston had the game back to even just over two minutes later. The route started just past the seven-minute mark when Peter Carriulo netted the first of his game-high four points (3G, 1A), kicking off a run of nine-straight scored by Providence.

Connor Nee netted Boston’s second of the contest deep in the second half, to close out the game’s scoring and 10-2 final.

Carriulo’s four points were backed up by a pair of goals by Becker-Norton. Jeffery Pimental was credited with the win in net for Providence.

Rink 2 – Middlesex Icemen U16 vs. 95 Giants U16:

Rink 3 – Delaware Prep 1 vs. Boston Knights 9:

The opening game at the 2019 Midget Fall Classic for Delaware Prep seemed to get off to a decent start, but quickly went awry as they fell to the Boston Knights 9-1.

Ashton Dunn broke open the game’s scoring, putting Delaware on top at 16:25 of the first half. Rather than spark his own side, however, Dunn’s goal got Boston going as their offense came back with two goals of their own to finish the first half at a 2-1 advantage.

It was a lead that exponentially grew as the Knights offense popped off for seven in the game’s final half to more than solidify their 9-2 victory.
