2018 Midget Fall Classic U18 Division Champion: Northern Cyclones

FOXBORO – The top prize at the 2018 Midget Fall Classic belongs to the Northern Cyclones. They closed out New England Pro-Am Hockey’s 2018 season with a 5-2 victory over Somang Hockey on Monday at the Foxboro Sports Center.

It was a title that seemed destined to belong to the Cyclones. Not only were they a perfect 3-0-0 in the tournament’s preliminary round, but as Monday’s championship contest progressed, the Cyclones were seemingly able to convert on every scoring chance they had.

Liam Copp started the assault with a score at 2:38. It was then a pair for Cory Morris and a power play goal for Maxime Dumas that staked the Cyclones a comfortable, four-goal advantage.

Trailing 4-0, Somang netted a power play goal at 18:58 to start getting back in the contest. The Cyclones answered with a power play goal of their own at 23:49, however, just about putting an end to any sort of comeback dreams for Somang.

A closing seconds goal by Somang’s Felix Mailhot ended the scoring and brought the game to its 5-2 final.
