FOXBORO – As the preliminary round of play at the 2018 Midget Fall Classic approached its end on Sunday, the Wonderland Wizards U16 defeated the OV Wolves by a score of 4-2 at the Foxboro Sports Center.
Seamus Carolan started the scoring with a goal that made it 1-0 in favor of the Wizards. It was a lead that grew to 2-0, but a late power play goal from Nicolas Jacques-Hachey split the deficit in half and sent the Wolves to the locker room trailing 2-1.
Different verse, similar to the first in the second half as both sides repeated their scores to close out the contest. James Pisciotta and Sam Swanson scored for the Wizards, with a goal by the Wolves’ Max Tcherkas sandwiched in between to round out the 4-2 score.
Swanson (1G, 1A), Pisciotta (1G, 1A) and Ashton Lewis (2A) finished as the game’s multipoint getters, while Alex Tsymbalyuk was credited with the netminding duties for the victors.
