Triple time for Eagles over Colonials, 6-2.

FOXBORO – The NH East Eagles netted their first win of the 2018 Midget Fall Classic in a solid fashion on Sunday at the Foxboro Sports Center. They defeated the Valley Forge Colonials 6-2 to push their preliminary round record to 1-1-0.

It was a tight game in the first. A power play goal from Valley Forge’s Jake Furlong garnered the game’s first lead at 14:29. The lead belonged to the Eagles by half’s end, however, as NH netted a pair. One each from Patrick Vetter and Michael Somerset.

The Colonials were back on the board early in the second, another goal from Furlong evening the score at 2-2. Yet, there were a bevy of goals to be had for the Eagles, as they tripled their score in the frame to close out the 6-2 victory.

Mathis Savard was by far the top scorer in the contest, credited with a five-point showing at two goals and three assists. Vetter and Somerset also each had multi-point showings, each with a goal and assist.

Christopher Eno was credited with the win in net for the Eagles.
